Another acclaimed ancestor in Cedars Mojave’s pedigree is the legendary El Hilal (Ansata Ibn Halima X Bint Nefisaa) who produced Imperial Al Kamar, the grandsire of Mojave’s dam. Even through several generations, Mojave still carries the balanced conformation and prolific breeding abilities, stamping his foals just as this legendary sire did.
El Hilal, 1966 Straight Egyptian Grey Stallion, was bred by Douglas B Marshall (Gleannloch Farms), Spring, TX and was sold as a weanling to Sheila Varian where he produced two excellent quality Arabian foals.
As a two-year-old, El Hilal found a new home in Washington State where he would join his new owner Robert Thorndike and the famed TheEgyptianPrince. Here he sired hundreds of foals, many becoming champions, and it was here that he attracted the attention of famed show trainer Ron Palelek . Ron continued to show him and as he matured, he went on to win many championships as well as U.S. and Canadian National Top Ten honors. And due to his outstanding quality as a sire, he ultimately earned the title of the leading straight Egyptian sire of champions.
